I think we may have snuck this session in on the last day of fall. It was beautiful at Como Park and today it is snowing! Gotta love the midwest!

This looks like yearbook material, don’tcha think?

Love this shot!

It was a perfect day to hang out in Excelsior! Here are a few shots from my session with Pete today!

This weekend will mark the first weekend that I have been home in 6 weeks. Our friends think we’re crazy for traveling so much but when the people you love are getting married or live 5 hours away and you just happen to miss them…you travel. A lot.

I spent one of those 6 weekends in Fargo, North Dakota visiting one of my BFF’s, Stephanie. Stephanie is one of those people you meet and fall head over heels in love with approximately 4.25 minutes later. She’s the one that smacked me on the head while I was treading helplessly in about 20 feet of water, when a horsefly landed on my head. (Did I mention we had known each other for about a week?) I’m pretty sure the horsefly got away and I got a mouth full of Long Lake. She happily insisted that it was an “RDM” (relationship defining moment) and from that day on we became virtually inseparable.

So one Friday afternoon, I hopped in my truck and made the  long trip up to Fargo. Fargo is nothing like I imagined it to be. Even though I had been there once before, I was still stuck by how…well, normal it is! We did what we do best, drank beer, shopped, decorated, watched the Sex and the City movie (finally), supported the local American legion bar and ordered not one but 2 pizzas that weekend. It was a blast and I can’t wait to go back!

Unfortunately, the weather didn’t really cooperate for pictures that weekend. I had planned on taking pictures of Steph & her hubby Sunday but the weather had other plans. These are the only two images I captured that weekend:

There were two extra cool highlights of this trip…

1) I got to meet Ria of Rialee Photography. We made an impromptu trip into the building where Steph knew she had her studio. Ria was so kind and let us poke around her studio while she waited for her clients to arrive. She is one of my biggest inspirations so it was AMAZING to see where she worked AND meet her! Be sure to check out her blog here.

2) I finally got to see the new Pout Baby Boutique that Steph’s former co-worker owns. I’ve been following the Pout Blog since our friend Paula designed their logo. The store looks fantastic and I couldn’t leave without buying some gear for Miss Belle. I got a pair of these and a pair of these. I highly recommend stopping in to see Kris & Holly if you’re in the Fargo area – the store is beautiful!

So that was my trip to Fargo! I recharged my girlie battery which was very much needed!

PS: This extra long post is a result of my impulse purchase last week before I left for Texas. I am now a proud owner of this:

A very, very pretty 19″ Samsung flat screen monitor. I had finally had enough of squinting into my teeny, tiny laptop screen so I did some research and headed over to the local big box store and picked it up. I’m officially in love. **sigh** It makes editing so much easier and faster. Hopefully this will help expedite my photo processing which in turn means you get your images faster! It’s really a win, win!

More of the beautiful little I…

This is what mom & dad call “the ledge”. I call it the “I have my parent’s wrapped around my finger” :o )

It’s a lot of work being a model!

Check back after next weekend for more shots of the fabulous Miss I and the rest of her family!

My sweet, sweet niece is growing up way to fast! I can hardly stand it! Here is a sneak peek of her 3 month shots…thanks for being patient mom!

My favorite from the session…

This is how B really felt about having my camera in her face all night…

I figure she’ll eventually get use to it!

No excuses here, I’m just overworked and underslept (is that even a word?) these days. I have lots of pictures from Miss Belle’s 3-month shoot to share. Check back at the end of the week!
