I ordered another lens yesterday. I cannot wait for it to arrive so I play around with it! I love checking out other photographer’s blogs to get shot ideas and gear ideas. I am on Pink Ink Studios mailing list and this month they featured Chasity Furse who mentions that her favorite piece of gear is her Pro Lens Wear bag so first I had to check out her blog and then I had to check out Pro Lens Wear’s website. Their bags are SO cute and so ME! And then I checked out their blog which lead me to Tracy Joy’s website. I honestly thought I was going to have a hard time finding a cute bag but really I’m just having a hard time picking one out!

I love rainy days. There is something almost soothing about them. I spent most of today sewing baby gifts and trashing my once clean sewing room. I played around with burp cloths most of the day. I was having a hard time with the ribbons but eventually I got it all to come together. Here is what came out of the day:

Of course I couldn’t resist playing around with my camera during my breaks.

I’ve sold three pictures this week: Tuscany Lillies, Tuscany Vineyard Courtyard and French Cafe. Tuscany Lilies is one of my favorite pictures. I took it in a little village in Tuscany that we stopped at on our way to a winery tour. I came across a courtyard with two large pots of lilies. Calla lilies are my favorite flower and hold a special place in my heart…my grandma carried them on her wedding day, as did my cousin, as did I. I went with a less traditional lilly but it carried the same meaning to me and to my family. We’ve been married almost 2.5 years already…seems like this was just yesterday!

I’m so excited about Regent Hill Designs! It’s a strange feeling to see something that you have dreamed about for a very long time start to take shape. Maybe some day, I can quit corporate america and focus on RH…I have a feeling it will be a long time before that happens but I’m will to wait it out. In the mean time, I’m having so much fun working on things. I ordered personalized stickers and a few other things from Littlebeane Boutique that I am anxious to see!

I straigtened up my “sewing corner” last night. It felt so good to get a handle on what I had in stock and what I needed to buy. Plus with everything put away, I feel like I have space to work.

And my first sale is wrapped up and ready to head out the door first thing tomorrow morning! Today is a good day!

PS: Have you heard the new song “Johnny & June” by Heidi Newfield? If you haven’t and you love country, you need to go to itunes and download it! It is one of those songs that I could listen to over and over again and I still get the same core chilling feeling I got the first time I heard it.

These bags are adorable!

I have got to get one of THESE! But I’m waiting for their big announcement per their blog to see what the new product is. I’m hoping it’s a bag that will hold the cameras as well as the lens! I absolutely love their “sophisticated” fabric!

Go check them out, they are adorable…ok I’m really going to clean this time, I swear!

Do you ever notice how content dogs look curled up in that one little sliver of sun that streams in the house at the end of the day? Mine has recently made the foot of our bed his new favorite place to stretch out.

I know you love your new camera mom but I'm trying to nap!

I wish I could join him in my favorite spot in our bedroom but I need to get back to cleaning up the house because it has been let go for too long. It looks like a college house…ok maybe not that bad but it’s not good. Think I could talk JD into letting me get a cleaning lady for our 1,200 sq ft manison? haha

It\'s calling my name...

Check these out! http://www.myfunkycamera.com/

I still love getting snail mail. Minus the junk mail of course which is what is in our mailbox 80% of the time. But today was a good mail day. I got all of this plus an invite to my best friend’s baby shower!

Good Mail Day

I bet you’re wondering what the fabulous piece of fabric is in the lower right corner, right?? It came wrapped with a piece of twine with a sweet little note from Brin! It’s the toolbelt apron that I bought from Freeman House last week. Isn’t it awesome? It’s even more beautiful in person!

Pretty Package

She was right it looks fabulous with jeans and t-shirt!

Brin is an awesome inspiration to me. You should really check out her blog - My Messy, Thrilling Life. She is super creative, sweet and has great insight into life. I’m off to work on my sewing room which looks like it has been hit by a tornado.

For those of you who know me, I am quite possibly one of the most indecisive people in the world. Yesterday I decided to go to National Camera Exchange to see if they would match the Best Buy deal. The girl there that helped me was awesome. She agreed to match the deal but then asked if I was set on the D40 instead of the D60 or the D80. Anyone who has been following along with my camera saga knows that I have been anything but set on anything. After talking with her more,  I bought the D60, a Nikkor VR 18-55mm, a Nikkor VR 55-200mm lens and a SB600 Speedlight flash. I spent a little more than I had planned but I think it was worth it! I played around with it last night briefly and this afternoon. Here are a few of the shots - I smudged out some details on the invite - just in case!
